All are email based, though there is a web-based interface available.

1. Click on the following link to start an email to the list program.

   majordomo@lists.pdx.edu

2. Put the following text in the body of the email, replacing <list_name> with the name of the list you wish to subscribe and <your_email_address> with your email address:

   subscribe <list_name> <your_email_address>

   Note: the list names are shown above in parenthesis, just after the list titles.

   Make sure that your email address is the one which others see when they receive your email. Normally this is your reply-to setting in your email client. If you're unsure, simply send an email to yourself. The email address located in the from: field is the one you should use.

3. Send the message.

   Shortly, you should get a response back from the list software asking to confirm your subscription.

4. Send back the confirmation

   The confirmation will have the same command with an authorization number pre-pended to it. Send it back in a new email to the discussion list software. Follow these instructions:

   1. Select and copy the command
   2. Start a new email message ( click here: majordomo@lists.pdx.edu )
   3. Paste the command in the body
   4. Send the email.

      If the subscription process goes well, you will get a message welcoming you to the board. This message will contain important commands and email address for the list software. This message might be delayed if your subscription request is waiting to get approved by the list moderator.
